OUR STORY
I like to think that in each of our coffees there is a little bit of our company, our family, and our business dream.
Each cup should remind of our noisy family meetings around large tables, the dedication to work that our grandparents taught us, the respect for values and others. Being a family and a company at the same time, is a unique source of energy, an inestimable value, a guarantee of ethics, passion, and continuity.
Our story as roasters began in San Carlo Canavese in 1971, in a small warehouse owned by my grandparents. My father, Luciano Perrero, who had worked in coffee fields since he was young, decided to renovate the old warehouse and start his own roasting.
A difficult step, a gamble according to someone, but with the support of my mother Rita, the dream of building something of their own seemed possible: She would take care of the packaging, he of the deliveries, while Saturday would be dedicated to roasting. It was not easy, so many hours dedicated to experimenting, to listening and learning, trying to invest and grow, but, as my grandparents recommended, “without biting off more than they could chew”.

SLOW ROASTING, WITHOUT HASTE
Cooking means feeling, knowing the raw materials, choosing the right doses, and putting them together enhancing the flavours of each ingredient.
Roasting is all of this: knowing the peculiarities of each variety of coffee, the optimal cooking level of each, creating balance in a blend. Roasting is an essential phase during which coffee beans undergo profound transformations: They change colour, lose weight and humidity, increase in volume and above all develop aromas. Coffee is a product of the earth, different by types, varieties, origins, also different from crop to crop. The roaster’s task is to recognize these differences and know how to enhance them, giving every coffee its own time. That is why our roasting is slow, unhurried.
